Trumpets Dream

Growing up in South Florida,  marching bands were a part of John's cultural up bringing. In the south, marching bands were just as popular as sports. His first introduction was from his older siblings who had  instruments around the house. The experience that would have the biggest impact, would be the local MLK Day parade. Watching high school bands and the FAMU Marching 100, was magical! 

Hearing these musicians blow life into notes that painted amazing colors of music. It spoke to a part of John's soul that hadn’t been reached. When he was old enough he joined the John F. Kennedy Middle School Marching Band. Hearing the brass section of HBCU’s like FAMU helped his decision to play a trumpet. 

This piece, brings you into what John imagines a trumpets dream would look like if it dreamt of playing a perfect composition.
